The Tarot is a deck of playing cards used for games, divination and fortune telling. The most common Tarot decks have 78 cards, comprising 56 "Minor Arcana" (in four suits of 14 cards each), and 22 "Major Arcana" (also called Trumps or Triumphs).
Tarot cards most likely originated in Italy during the 15th century, where they were used to play the game of tarocchini.
Their use in fortune telling can be traced back to the 16th century, when divinatory meanings began to be attributed to the different cards.
Although many tarot readings use a full deck of 78 cards, the Major Arcana are generally considered the most significant. The images and traditional names of these 22 cards cards can be seen as symbolizing universal or archetypal features of the human condition, and this makes them an ideal divinatory tool.
The Psychic Science interactive Triumphal Tarot uses the 22 Tarot Trumps to offer daily advice, advice on questions, and also a general analysis of your Past, Present, and possible Future situations.
