Enter Birth Data for Each Person
Chinese astrology differs in important ways from Western astrology. It relies heavily on the Chinese lunisolar (moon and sun) calendar and a 60-year (sexagenary) cycle in which each year is assigned specific elemental and zodiacal qualities.
Similar cycles apply to the months, days, and hours. This permits an analysis of the Four Pillars of Destiny (八字, Ba Zi) that are believed to characterize a person's path through life, based on considering the Year, Month, Day, and Hour of birth.
Our Compatibility Calculator compares two people's Four Pillar analyses using original algorithms based on traditional Chinese principles.
To use the Calculator, simply select each person's birth information, then click "CALC".
All your data remain confidential - no names or other birth data are sent to our servers or recorded by us.
While our calculator corrects for the Chinese New Year, no adjustment is made for different time zones or daylight saving (this can be done manually if required).
You will be shown the percentage matches for each person's Four Pillars (Natural Self, Social Self, Elder Self, and Birth Year Cohort) together with the average overall match.
The percentage matches are displayed as red (poor), amber (fair), or green (good).
The scores obtained with this tool are calculated using special algorithms that take into account the traditional compatibilities between the following aspects of Chinese astrology.
- Polarities (Yang vs Yin, Positive vs Negative)
- Chinese Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water)
- Chinese Zodiac Signs (Rat, Ox, Tiger, etc.)
While every effort has been taken to ensure the error-free operation of this Compatibility Calculator, if you discover any errors or bugs in the program, please report them.
All compatibility scores and descriptions are provided for entertainment purposes only. No claim is made concerning their accuracy or suitability for any purpose. By using this Compatibility Calculator you agree to accept any and all risks and liabilities that may result from its use.
Note that the calculated compatibility scores are not exact measurements, but rather approximate values. These scores may also differ from those made by other online calculators or software.
Finally, please bear in mind that human relationships are complex and, while it may be interesting and entertaining to explore these analyses, they provide, at best, only a partial perspective. They should not be taken too seriously. Also, don't be surprised if they appear wide of the mark. If they seem inaccurate, they probably are. In these circumstances, it is much better to trust your own judgments about people and relationships.
